Eight? I’ve been working on Windows (Server) updates for 45 minutes now. Also doing Synology and Watchguard updates. It’s a party!!!!

My government laptop takes an average of 30 minutes to start up. Every time.

Mine actually runs pretty darn well although I do sometimes get kicked off of it for a few hours while IT does security patches that should automatically installed but never do. Last time I went on travel the office at the site I went to recoded my PIV card to with their gates which broke it for my laptop. So I had to lug around a Dell-branded paperweight for a few days then spend 2 hours getting it fixed again when I got back.

I will not upgrade to Windows 10 until they kill Windows 7 like they eventually did Windows XP. And once I do, I’ll do whatever I can to make it look and feel like Windows 7.

Actually, Win10 let's you set it up almost like Win7. If you have an extra computer or can setup a dual boot, you should give it a try.

I don’t want to be a d**k about it, but in this thing, I am set in my ways. I have lots of computers that I use and support in my home and family and Windows 7 works great for the basic stuff we do. The most exotic thing I run is full-version Adobe CS6, and some other related odds and ends and it all runs fine under Win 7. So I’m a stick with it until my hands are cold and dead, just as I did with Windows XP. Devil I know versus the devil I don’t know.

“So I’m a stick with it until my hands are cold and dead,”
Bwahahaha!, I was thinking you would say something like that a couple of hours ago after my last post. Believe me, I totally get it.

I really don’t wanna seem like a d**k about it. I’m a procrastinator, passive-aggressive, late adopter. With everything. I don’t think this applies to Windows 10 necessarily, but when I see a bunch of people all doing something, I generally assume that they are lazy or clueless or, frankly, stupid. iPad, for example...
